The Lost Art Press storefront will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 8, and we welcome you and your woodworking questions.
This weekend, I’ll probably build another staked stool (I have the parts prepped) and perhaps demonstrate the charring technique I showed in yesterday’s post. Also, we have the press mockup of “Roman Workbenches,” which you are welcome to look through. The book is at the bindery now.
We don’t, however, have any blemished books on hand to sell. The Lie-Nielsen event last month cleaned us out.
Need a list of where to eat and drink during your visit? Here you go.
Need directions to get here? Here’s a map.

Chris thank you for opening up the store today. It was nice to stop in with the family on the way back from spring break and see the store first hand. With the day to day rush of our lives I find shops such as yours a restful yet revitalizing experience. My kids asked questions after we left about the work benches and the three legged stoles. It’s places and people like yourself that promote thought and discussion and eventually carries on the craft to others. On the way back home my eleven year old son flipped through the books we picked up today. He created some makeshift dividers out of couple pencils in the truck and was doing some of the applications in “By Hound & Eye”. And in my eyes that’s pretty good testament that craftsmanship can be absorbed at any age. And my 7 year old daughter was about to plaster the “Disobey Me” Anarchist decal you gave her on the truck window before her Mother stopped her and said “Only on your Dad’s truck, not mine.” Thanks again keep up the great work.
