Crucible Bench Square QC

Today I received this from fellow chairmaker Larry Barrett. And it might be the most perfect gift I’ve ever received. This yardstick is from the Vonnegut Hardware Co. in Indianapolis. Author Kurt Vonnegut’s family owned the hardware store, and he is the reason I became a writer.

The third iteration in this series of Irish-inspired chairs. This one is in walnut and finished with Allback linseed oil and wax. The ironwork is by blacksmith @mgblacksmith in Cincinnati.

The next iteration of the Irish-esque armchair. The goal was to make the chair sit better without adding complexity. Details on our blog.

This is the simplest Irish-esque armchair I could come up with. And it led me to two more complex designs. You can read more about this chair on our blog.
