I was once told that some tool boxes minimum size was base on setting a framing square’s short tongue diagonal across the end of the tool box. While I always thought that this was a great idea, that has never allowed for sliding trays. So… I have a question; Does that triangular cutout on the hinge edge, (and possibly the front/lock edge) of the box allow for a framing square to fit across to top to fit? And if so is the square attached to the lid or just laid across the top of all the tools?
I will be excited to see your take on this tool chest. You are right, it is just about the right traveling size. I take classes with frank Strazza at Homestead Heritage. Check out https://www.homesteadheritage-woodworking.com/class.html?classname=Traveling Tool Box for another type.
Looks like someone got out of the baled hay business and went into woodworking. Guess they didnt need the sign anymore
