SOLD: This hollow auger works great and has all its parts. It is, however, quite grungy and has almost none of its original black japanning. And it has some surface rust.
In other words, this is a pure user-grade tool. When chucked into a brace, the Woods auger cuts round tenons from 1/4″ to 1-1/4″, which is ideal for chairmaking. This is the brand preferred by most chairmakers.
The iron needs some attention. I’ve been using it as-is for years. So the back is not polished and the bevel is untouched.
