I’ve just uploaded a six-minute video for those who purchased the “Make a Gibson Chair Video.” The new video shows two tricks I came up with that make the chair easier to build and a little stronger. I also show how to scribe the shoulders of the legs’ tenons to the seat for a clean look.
If you purchased this video, you should have received a notification of the update via email. If you didn’t, first check your spam/junk folder. You also can log into your account with Lost Art Press and see all your video content there. The new video should be at the bottom.
Like all our videos, you can watch them streaming through our site, or you can download them to any device. We have no Digital Rights Management (DRM) junk on the video files.
One of the tricks – my favorite – uses a 1” washer and makes fitting the back sticks a heck of a lot easier. Also, I’m crushing your head.

P.S. The Gibson chair video has an introductory price of $50 until June 19. After that, the price will be $75.
“What a thick head! I can see why they gave you this job!”
“There’s nobody home!” Now you can run LAP rent free!
Would it be helpful to use the washer trick on the underside of the arm as well, so you have top and bottom references for removing material?
Not really. The back stick angles away from back of the arm. You don’t really need to notch the bottom of the arm much, if at all.
Thank you, Chris and Meghan.
I attempted to download the videos and was unsuccessful. I got mtml files, which shi the picture but not the video. The other stuff downloaded just fine.
First thing I thought when i saw the picture, great skit. That one and the Things to Do skit were classic. Personally i am waiting for the Les Paul chair though.
Appreciate you guys, thanks for the updates 👍
Hi Chris, I didn’t create an account when i purchased the video and haven’t received an email about the new video. How do I proceed? Thanks!
Send a message to help@lostartpress.com and we will get you sorted out.
Cheers!
Just one more reason why LAP is awesome. They already have my money and they insist on giving me even more value, who else does that? Thank you Chris, John, Meghan and Bean.
By the way, I don’t have any plans on making the Gibson chair, just not my cup of tea. I bought the video because I find every LAP video to be enjoyable to watch, I know I’ll learn something, and I can’t not (sorry Meghan) support these amazing people.
The Kids in The Hall reference – 👍 . Didn’t know their reach extended to parts south of the border.
