Someone should make “RouboAnon” t-shirts
Hahahaha. Yes
Thanks for the livestream. It was fun.
thank you for your discussion of riven/sawn wood
Thank you so much – that was, as usual (you’ve done enough of these now that I think the term applies), both elucidating and entertaining!
Cheers,
Mattias
Ask you anything? Heck with woodworking. Chris—what was it that led to threats on your person in your ink-stained wretch days? Details but no names please. Megan—was Shakespeare a dog or a cat person, and why? Also, missed seeing the Crucible sliding bevel. Maybe in a blog soon?
Great fun, thanks for spending the afternoon with us. PS the audio was outstanding!
Glad the audio was OK.
When you are a newspaper reporter, you are threatened regularly. You get used to it.
The first time shook me up. I was an intern at my hometown paper, The Southwest Times Record, and had done a series of stories about how the NAACP was considering a desegregation lawsuit against the school system. Plus, a history of segregation in the schools (which I’d experienced as a student there).
The Klan didn’t much like the series and so they started calling Nancy, the city editor, to inquire about the “Jew boy” she had hired. They knew the make and model of my car, where I parked at the newspaper and when I left work every day. They told her I’d be dead soon.
So walking to my car every evening was a bit stressful. But in the end, they were all talk.
I also got shot at, questioned by the state police, saw a lot of murder victims and was regularly threatened with lawsuits. Newspapering is hard.
Yikes! Guess that kind of puts unfriendly Internet chitchat in perspective. Love the 4th estate, which only seems to be getting riskier. I’m gonna go watch His Girl Friday.
Thanks to the both of you for spending your precious time recording these videos. I learned something quite valuable today: I should have a bottle of Lagavulin on my bench. I’m sure Nick Offerman would approve. For after the sharp tools are put away of course. Thanks also for both having mics–the audio was great.
Thanks for the video . Nice balance of questions and demonstration .
Thanks for answering my question, renowned sitters! Having only seen the chairs (and not even in person!) it was very helpful knowing how it actually felt to sit in one. My wife has been asking for an Adirondack, maybe she is getting a Red Blue chair now!
“wood hates you and wants you to die” shirts should be added to your inventory
Thanks for taking the time to do these videos!
Very informative and entertaining, even when the questions were answered a thousand times on the blog or in the books, it is helpful to be reminded of the details. I love the demonstrations! Thanks again!
