We have replenished our stock of “The Woodworker’s Pocket Book” in our online store, and it is available for immediate shipment. The price is $13 plus shipping. This little book is so popular that we sold out of the first press run before it even hit our warehouse.
If you are on the fence about this book, you might want to make your decision before May. We will be raising prices slightly on many of our titles and tools that month.
If you live outside the United States, you can find the book at one of our retailers.
In other “Pocket Book” news, Texas Heritage Woodworks has opened up ordering on a big batch of slipcases. The slipcases are handsome, easy to install and fit the book perfectly.

It’s the Tardis of LAP books. Small on the outside but much bigger on the inside with the amount of information it contains. Great little book.
I do wish it had a few blank pages to add my own notes to it. Maybe in a future printing?
You plant today to harvest tomorrow. And the result of your work is bearing great fruit. Thank you for participating in the growth of our company!
Chris or Megan – is it possible to purchase the cover stock anywhere?
I want to make a sleeve for the pocket book rather than the TH slipcase style…
I have plans for molded veg-tan leather pocket, Google on “make a leather phone case” for details. Unlike a phone you can cut squares from the corners instead of molding to make it easier. Looks like a really good entry level molded leather project.
Hi Hank,
That’s so crazy it just might work. The cover cloth is made by Arlington (ecofibers.com). The color is the No. 64260 in linen finish. (The cloth is cotton.) I know several vendors sell samples. Perhaps you’ll be able to get enough to make your own slipcase. I have no idea how it will stitch….
Good luck!
Those tills look so awesome with age.
I have enjoyed the few titles of Mr. Hayward I’ve ordered. Must. Order. More! I do have a question if I may! I am curious to know if you are aware of where, or who might have tool(s) from the late great Mr. Hayward. I came across something and would like to compare owner marks. I’d hate for a treasure like a tool of Mr. Hayward’s to be lost to waste away neglected instead of appreciated! Thanks for any help!
Hi Paul,
I’m afraid I don’t know anything about Mr. Hayward’s tools or what became of them.
I appreciate your reply. Thank you!
