The good news: “The Woodworker’s Pocket Book” is shipping out from our warehouse in Indiana. This is the biggest batch of orders we have sent out since we started this company. So it will take some time to get all the books in the mail.
So if you haven’t received a shipping notification, don’t panic. It will come.
The bad news: We are almost sold out of the first print run of this book. Another press run is already in the works, however.
Now for some more good news/bad news.
The bad news: Our efforts to get a special slipcase manufactured that will install in your tool chest or tool cabinet have failed. The good news: We are working on a solution that is even better, and we will share the details as soon as we can.

Very excited to get the book and I’m realizing I should have ordered more copies. I’m looking forward to the slipcase solution. I guess it would be out of the question to hope for something that comes pre-attached to a tool chest with a veneered LAP logo on the lid. :/
How much are you willing to pay 😉
Sounds like all good news to me. Almost sold out? So what. There’s more coming. Sounds successful and will encourage more projects like this from LAP which is good for me. Slipcase fail? I’m sure there was a good reason (cost, workmanship, material) BUT an even better one may be coming. Also good. Thanks for letting us in on the developments.
Well, worst case I’ll have to make a pocket in one of the chests. Come to think of it i’ll make one in each since I already have the Door and window book! Thanks for bringing these out especially in this size format.
Exciting stuff! How long will it be until this book becomes available in Europe?
Better than a slip case, eh? Now that gets you thinking. I reckon it’ll be a kid leather bag with silk draw cords.
Quick question : Have you shipped any to your distributors in Sweden (Rubank Verktygs AB) ?
They are my closest dealers of LAP desirables, apart from all the other goodness they stock.
And if not now, then the next edition…
I’m a patient man — I watch paint dry on a professional basis.
I don’t think so. You might want to ask them to carry it. I know that Classic Hand Tools will carry it. They are taking orders now.
They have ordered atleast..
Christopher I have been following your blog for sometime now ever since looking for Campaign furniture plans a year ago. .
Reading the excitement and commitment to excellence and your customer has been exemplary as seen in your latest shipping up date on the Woodworkers’s pocket book. It has been an adventure following the road through hills and Vales of Lost Art Press. I’m in South Africa and feel absolutely jealous that I am so far removed from the varied activities and expertise available in the USA .
I will try and get a copy somehow ………….
thank you and may you Write ,Turn, publish and share many more pages .

Ok, got it. Worth the wait. And I can read the fine print! Thank you LAP.
Got it! Beautiful work. Thank you.
Congratulations on the popularity of this book ! I am waiting patiently for my good friends at Lee Valley to add this to their website . A bold prediction .. the ” Dutch Toolchest Book ” becomes your all-time best-seller !! All the best ..Peter
