We’ve had a couple people place inadvertent double orders: one when a book is first available (right when we send it to the printer), then again six weeks or so later when we post that the book is now in stock. (I get it…given my bourbon intake since March, it’s a miracle that I haven’t placed a double order!)
So, if you think it’s possible you’ve placed an order but cannot remember (or if you simply wish to check the status of an order), here’s how, in pictures (and captions).
And if you’re wondering why Chris ordered “The Anarchist’s Workbench” – a book he wrote and that is not only free to download but for which the design files are available to him on the very computer at which I type this – it’s because Lost Art Press likes to replicate your order experience from time to time, just to make sure everything is working as it should – from placing the order to the packing and shipping to delivery.

Thanks Megan, I was wondering about the process.
I can’t quite make out that password, could you please pm me?
password: Pee Ah eS eS double-you Oh Are Dee. No caps.
Thanks, Megan. And for what it’s worth, my order for TAW already shows as fulfilled, probably because I ordered a second, different book when I placed the pre-order?
That second book has been delivered, which means TAW also shows as fulfilled (displaying the same USPS tracking code for both).
No real issue there; just thought I’d mention in case others see the same.
It might actually have shipped today (books are in the warehouse), but any order issues, send an email to help@lostartpress.com
Just a quick note to say that my book arrived today and it’s perfect (like my copy of Mechanic’s Companion).
No issues with fulfillment, and the Joannes Galle bookmark is a really nice, unexpected touch.
OK so I ordered the second book, Now how do I cancel the second one?
Send an email to help@lostartpress.com and Meghan will take care of it.
On several occasions, I have found your books make wonderful gifts!
Brilliant! And just the perfect amount of humor. Thank you.
Don’t know if this will affect things, but back in July I ordered a physical copy of TAW as well as another one of your fine books in the same order. I received the other book in the mail… so that order was marked as ‘Delivered’. I hope I still have a copy of TAW on the way!
I’m sure you do — there’s just no “partially fulfilled.” Not to worry.
I’m in the same the boat as I combined a physical copy of TAW with a Crucible Scraper. They both have the same USPS tracking number. I’ll follow Megan’s sage advice and not worry.
I confess that, because I order the book and read the pdf on the day they are announced, when the hard copy arrives I’ve often been surprised. It’s kinda like christmas.
I am sorry but
Did you say you double ordered bourbon?
What’s so terrible about that?
You guys talk about bourbon A LOT. I know you are in Kentucky and all, but has NOBODY shared with you the marvelousness that is rye whiskey?!
I ♥️ Basil Hayden Dark Rye.
Nice stuff. Alongside Templeton and High West
When bourbon, or in the case of someone with a name that ends in a vowel: red wine, leads you to a duplicate order, there is a second option. There is really no finer gift to a prospective woodworker than a LAP book. Visually beautiful, filled with usable philosophy, woodworking fundamentals and bomber teaching techniques, it’s the perfect mentor to mentee gift. It actually makes you look far smarter than you are. It’s a much easier fix than when your spouse sees you open a box from UPS and you pull out a samurai sword and asks you what you are going to do with that, and you think, damn, did I actually add that to cart? Honey, I am going to trim the shrubs with this.
I myself have done that oh welI, Is nice to know how to check though….Thanks
I know how to check. And if I’d thought about it for more than 5 seconds, likely I’d be able to remember it anyway.
I think it’s more about impulse control, an issue of which I am already well aware.
Just received my copy of “Anarchists Workbench “.I’m overall happy with the book, but coming from a family of printers, I would judge the Reproduction of the photos mediocre at best. I bought the book for the information and that was well presented so a good value for the price

We try to improve every book with every press run. We are trying two changes to improve ink transfer on the upcoming press run. Manufacturing stuff is never easy.
