We have decided to cancel the June 13 open day at our storefront. We will reschedule it for a future Saturday when it seems like a good idea to get 100+ people together from all over the country and cram them into one small workshop.
We hope to restart classes this summer, but that depends on what is allowed by the state of Kentucky. If you signed up for a class, you will hear from the instructor personally about this issue. If you do have questions on classes, please email fitz@lostartpress.com.
We remain optimistic that things will return to (somewhat) normal this year, but our Ouija board is broken. And I’d never forgive myself if someone got sick because of a class or an open day. Our customers range in age from their 20s to their 80s, so we will continue to err on the side of caution.

Ouija board is broken? Probably starved the glue joint.
Sorry to hear that, but I’m sure it’s the right decision. Plus side: more time to edit books!
I figure you didn’t leave the ouija board in the cramps long enough after glue-up .. leading to the break . Really enjoyed the workbench videos you and your daughter did , perhaps a few more of those could be produced ? Or teasers on new Books in the pipeline ? Thanks !
I like this post how I like going to the dentist. I hate it, but I know it needs to happen.
Good news! You can’t go to the dentist either!
I sure am glad I was able take the Høj Stool Class with Brendan on March 1st. On the drive back home to Wisconsin is when it really sunk in that things are changing fast and life will be different for a while. We’ll get there. So I look forward to taking a class at LAP again some time.
Deeply disappointed, but GREATLY respect your decision. Woodworking highlighted with LAP’s insightful works have given me breadth, more creative purpose during the COVID-19 reckoning. I look forward to seeing you all again when we can. Thank you and be well!
Big sigh. Now how are we supposed to get through the month of May?
