If you’ve ever wondered why I don’t host a podcast or do YouTube, click the image above to feast your eyes upon the laboratory animal that is me.
Kate Swann at the Florida School of Woodwork asked me to sit for a short interview while I was teaching there last month. I was happy to do it, but you might better enjoy the other interviews she’s done (check out her channel here).
The school is great – if you live in the Southeast I encourage you to check out the classes. And definitely bring your family – the area is filled with stuff for them to do while you build something. A win for everyone.

The school looks awesome. And that’s a good interview! But don’t do a podcast — we still need writers who WRITE!
You are very articulate, you have a great voice, and you are genuine. I think YouTube would be a successful venture for you. Good interview!
I liked the interview! If you’re a lab animal, then we’re all there with you. I heard something from you near the end that I haven’t heard you say before but which struck me: “Spend about half your time on your business and you’re more likely to be around in 10 years.” Many of us makers would rather be in the shop doing our thing, so hearing you recommend a 50-50 split will certainly help me reduce my own personal frustration that running a business can take so much time away from the shop. Thank you for that nugget!
Great interview.
I love the trees with chairs through the seat at the front of the school’s building. Fun idea…although I’m sure my HOA might disagree.
Are you kidding?? You look like a hollywood actor! Specifically, hollywood actor Martin Starr.
Thanks for not saying “Bowser” from Sha Na Na
