DIY initials have entered our language. I remember being lost near Cardiff one day. I stopped to ask a local for directions. “Straight up, turn left at the Crown, than after a mile look on your left for a large Don’t Involve Yourself store – it’s just past there.”
— John Brown, Issue 27 of Good Woodworking magazine
Just like getting directions in a small town: Go 3 miles south, turn right go past the old Henry place, take a left after the 1st pasture, and it’s on the right just past where the wooden silo was before it was torn down. 🙂 Then you hate to tell them that you’re not from around there.
– Aw, five miles and maybe a half more. Do you see that road over there?
– Yeah.
– Don’t take that one, it’ll do you no good.
That was a timely article. I had never had luck cutting glass, and abandoned further attempts. I have a project near the top of my list that involves some restoration glass, so this is a good push to learn.
Brilliant.
