Megan Fitzpatrick at Popular Woodworking Magazine has posted a video tour of the 1505 Holy Roman Workbench that was filmed at Woodworking in America last month. Roy Underhill has also shot an episode of “The Woodwright’s Shop” about both of the Roman workbenches I built this summer. I’m not sure when that will air during season 36. When I get news, I’ll post it here.

That bench is a thing of beauty.
Thanks Nancy!
I’m glad other people like the look of it. It’s a shock to the eye at first, but now it looks like it grew that way.
I like the lower height for a bench. I think my bench is to tall for using a wood plane. Can’t get any body weight on it. Maybe I need to cut the legs off a few inches, or stand on a stool.
I really like both benches.
I also really like the history lessons. Fascinating!!
Every time I read “Holy Roman Workbench”, The word “Batman” follows immediately in my brain. It’s like a Pavlovian response.
Every hand tool woodworker needs that drill. I sold my drill press after buying mine. That drill and two laser guides do the trick and store in a drawer.
