After a long weekend of bagging groceries, Katy is cooking up more wax and she just listed 33 more jars on her etsy site.
This time she conned Funky Winkerbean to pose in a photo. Unlike the last cat, Funky didn’t mind the smell. Of course, this animal licks its own butt and seems to like it.
We’re also experimenting with making a non-stinky black wax. Our next batch is going to have carbon black in it – we are just waiting for our shipment to arrive. So stay tuned.

I received my soft wax a couple of days ago. I put the small stickers in my shirt pocket and promptly forgot about them. After my wife washed the shirt she wondered where I had been that needed “A” signs (carryover from my time in the military, SE Asia. )
The A signs signified better (safe) places. Well I explained what this A denoted and that the product is great and deserves it’s own sign of excellance.
Funky is simply looking for his llama.
“Funky Winkerbean” ??
I think the head of Cat Naming needs to be sacked. There is a moose looking for a position outside the field of television, I’m told. 😉 J/K of course; my feline’s name is Obsidian.
Our cats name is Bernard James Howlett. Bernard was the name the pound gave him and my boys gave him James Howlett which is Wolverine’s given name.
So about the wax. Would you use the new black wax the way you would the black wax on campaign furniture?
Yup. That’s the plan.
Has the Fair Katy seen Don Williams method of purifying (presumably) less expensive “dirty” bee’s wax?
We have. She’s got her hands full as it is with her two jobs. Though she might be up for it some day.
Will someone plaese tell me how to order from the Etsy site, I’d love some wax but don’t have time to drive to Covington. Jerry
Jerry,
Once you have opened up an account with Etsy it should be fairly simple to purchase the wax. The only problem is that I just checked the site now and all the tins have been sold. There is usually an add to cart button there unless everything is sold out.
I could not get any wax myself until the second offering. Happy hunting.

Sorry Jerry,
She usually sells out after a day or so. She’s making more and she’ll have it up in her store by Friday or Saturday.
Guess it’s just the capitalist in me. I’m currently working out in my head how to build a huge double boiler with a tap for decanting the wax into a chamber for infusing the turpentine just before it gets squirted into the tin…
