Free domestic shipping for Peter Galbert’s “Chairmaker’s Notebook” ends at midnight Friday. After that, standard domestic shipping for the book will be about $8 (depending on where you live).
The book will ship from the printing plant on March 25 and arrive in our warehouse a day after that. Our fulfillment service has pledged to set up a special assembly line to process all of the pre-publication orders immediately. All books will go out using FedEx’s “SmartPost” service with reliable tracking and delivery within 5-7 days.
We had to change how we offer free shipping in our store for this book. To receive free domestic shipping on this book, use the coupon code Chair at checkout.

What about us who have already pre-ordered?
Not sure what you are asking.
“To receive free domestic shipping on this book, use the coupon code Chair at checkout”. Does this effect those who have pre-ordered?
Nope. If you ordered the book before today, free shipping was automatic.
Those of us who pre-ordered before this post that says we have to enter chair in coupon code. Do we still get free shipping?
If you already pre-ordered check your receipt. I pre-ordered on Saturday with no issues… seems like he’s saying this is a change going forward.
That video is great.
i can’t wait for my copy…i hate fedex smartest though… takes twice as long as media mail
smart post … damn spellcheck
We have found the opposite to be true during the last eight years. But if you have trouble getting the book, please let us know.
The three orders I placed from LAP that came USPS, two came in two days, one in four. The one order smart post took an entire week…just saying
Using PayPal, just now, shipping was automatically free. So, there’s that option too.
Hi Chris,
Like Maurice, I didnt have to enter “Chair” anywhere, and didnt see any place.
I’m looking forward to this.
Indeed. We were able to disable that. Still refining the shipping situation here….
Any news on this book shipping? March 20th has come and gone; the 23rd too. Here we are at the 27th and no word. Has the been some problem with the bindery? the bulk shipment to your retail shipper? issues with your retail shipper?
Here’s the schedule (at this moment): The book is supposed to ship from the printer’s freight dock today. We are supposed to receive the books tomorrow. Our fulfillment service is planning on an assembly line to ship all pending orders on Friday.
I was planning on posting an update when I had news from the printer.
