There are only three more days left to order “To Make as Perfectly as Possible: Roubo on Marquetry” with free domestic shipping. After Oct. 10, shipping will be $7 or $8.
Today I received my advance copy of the standard edition of the book, and it is impressive. The paper is heavy and bright, making the text and plates really leap from the page. The binding, as per usual, is nice and tight. It is a substantial chunk of a book.
To order it with free shipping, click here. This is our final reminder – I’m off to Charleston, S.C., to see my dad and then Pittsboro, N.C., to teach. So I won’t be around to nag you.
I made a short video of the book so you can see what it looks like. I have spared you the banjo tunes this time and have used Bach’s “French Suite 4” as covered by Slayer (kidding about the Slayer part).
Click here to see the video. WordPress’s embedding function is sub-functional today.
“To Make as Perfectly as Possible: Roubo on Marquetry” will start shipping to customers after Woodworking in America next week.

OK, I’ll play dumb. Banjo or Bach not withstanding, is there a video of what the book looks like or not? And where do we click to see it. There is a hot spot on the photo of the book, but it doesn’t seem to launch anything.
Regards,
Gary
We are experiencing massive WordPress problems today.
If we ordered a copy to be shipped when should we expect to receive it in the mail, man I’m excited!
After WIA. We gotta get through that first.
Slayer would have nailed that 🙂
Will you have copies of the original at the book release party?
Nope. We did that last year. I am not willing to risk taking them to a restaurant.
Sorry.
The Banjo works better.
“The Banjo works better.” Philistine!
Awesome looking book! Can’t wait to get my copy. When can we order R2???
Thanks for the enthusiasm, Charlie!
We learned a lot of lessons in publishing Rv1. With Rv2 we will follow our more standard publishing pattern: pre-publication orders will commence on the day the book goes to press. We plan to offer a deluxe and standard edition of Rv2 using the same form factor as Rv1.
I’m just glad I have until Spring until the manuscript hits my desk….
Was there a video like this for the fancy pants version?
Nope. We haven’t seen it yet.
