Looks more like a woodworker’s coffin.
He got a patent for THAT! Mr Jones must have had power political friends who owed him lots of money.
It was a design patent, which is quite different from a utility patent, that only protected the visual styling of the chest for 14 years.
Patents used to be fairly easy to get in this country. IIRC, about the time of the Reagan administration it got much more difficult and expensive.
