Clear your calendar, save your pennies and make plans to attend the Handworks event May 24-25 in Amana, Iowa. Lost Art Press will be there with books, tool chests and T-shirts.
If you haven’t heard about the Handworks event, head directly to handworks.co and read up. It’s OK, I’ll wait right here while you do that.
…hmmm….
And hey, what do you think? Pretty cool. It’s an amazing list of hand-tool-only vendors. A great barn. No admission. And there is a brewery nearby. What more do you need?
Be certain to register that you will attend by sending an e-mail to register@handworks.co. There are directions and details on the Handworks site.

Looks awesome! Great list of vendors/presenters. I have already registered and am now counting the days…
Sweet! That’s just up the road, I’ll be there with bells on….well…maybe not with actual bells.
Curse you Christopher Schwarz. Curse you!!!! How am I going to convince the family that we need to go to Iowa for two days?
Dude, tell ’em about the awesome cornfields with cobs in the sky!
Wow. Calendar marked. I’m saving my cash right now…can’t wait. And, the word will be spread.
Holy raffle ticket, Batman! It’s worth the trip just for a shot at the door prizes.
Agreed!

A place to pitch a tent and to park the motorcycle.
Check the map. It’s right down the road a piece. 🙂
read the list of door prizes. Look down. Tent already pitched…
Chis – Do you realize that you are an enabler?
With that line up card it’s like Woodstock for tool geeks, (pun not intended, but comes with the analogy). If the Mayans were wrong, I’m there.
Finally, something within easy driving distance, and for a bonus, I can visit my college roommate in Iowa City! Now I just have to make sure that’s not my weekend to work….
Peggy, some things are more important any particular job.
So true, Chuck. Especially cool hand tools and fellow woodworkers!
Some friends and I used to head down there once a year to work a small Ren Faire and the craft beer that is brewed down there was always one if the highlights. We’d both make sure to leave room when we were packing to go down so there would be room for a couple cases on the way back. I’ve been looking for justification enough to head down there for the last few year since the Faire died out. Well an excuse other than the beer of course.
Count me in on this one!
I’m in! The door prizes are AMAZING and really show the vendors commitment to this event.
where in the hell is amana iowa????can i get there from ann arbor????since you are the beer joint, local eatery guru, i expect a full report before may…..my wife is already threatening you, me and all woodworkers who hang around barns…..see you in may !!!!!………dale
