Here we have 11 more tool chests, waiting to be born.
Next week I’ll be at Kelly Mehler’s School of Woodworking building “The Anarchist’s Tool Chest” alongside the students. One of their questions will be on hardware – what to use and where to get it.
I’ve been completely satisfied with the hinges and ring pulls from Horton Brasses. But what if you want something more old school? Something like a crab lock, perhaps?
Stay tuned.

I’ve been kicking around the thought of being an “in-fill” in this class, weighing my enthusiasm for hand work, and my profound lack of skill. I took a look at the registration page on Kelly Mehler’s site to check on the tool requirements, found the link, but the details are restricted. Is there another way to check on what tools we need for this class?
I can’t find the tool list on my laptop. You might want to send a quick message to Kelly or Jordan at the school.
That is some gorgeous looking wood! What’s the flavor du jour next week? Pine? What’s the source this time?
I am not sure where Kelly got it. But Kelly always gets good stuff.
At least it looks like you won’t have to be out sawing up a bunch of lumber by hand on some stools.
