The world of the craftsman is a world of his own. Once in it he is free of a kingdom of which he is the uncrowned king, an inheritor of fine traditions and an explorer in his own right, able to extend his boundaries in any direction that seem good to him.
There will always be beauty beckoning to him just above the horizon, beauty that will lure him on with what the future may bring.

While I appreciate your quotations and I thoroughly enjoy your craftsmanship with wood, I have to admit that I keep coming back for the photography. I have analyzed your images to death and the only explanation I can come up with regarding the amazing lighting you consistently achieve is because you either have some serious photofloods bouncing off the ceiling, a few flash heads aimed the same way, or your entire ceiling is one giant lightbox.
Care to share your secrets?
Peace.
Mitchell
Mitchell,
This series has been done with available light only. Light from three windows and some fluorescents in the ceiling.
My CF-based studio lights are packed away somewhere.
Glad you like it!
Cool saw till. Does something rest in the top arc, or is that for aesthetics?
I agree the photos are great. My wife is a photographer and she thinks they are great.
I’ve enjoyed the quotes too.
Chris, nice quote again!! Soon I hope you will tell us a little more (read: a lot more) about all the shop "appliances" that we have been seeing on these superb photos!!
Cheers
