Love that quote, Chris. Fantastic.
I’m concerned about the broken screw on the face vice in this picture. I am going to be using a wooden screw that I paid mucho money for on the leg vice of the "Nicholson" I am building. You planning on making a calendar or something with all these nice black and whites?
Clearly Mr. Cescinsky was not familiar with the lunatic dog lover market accessible via eBay and Craigslist.
Chris, is your new book entirely about toolchests (or the featured toolchest of late) or are you going to include more subjects on toolholding?
Love the quotes, makes for fun and interesting, not to say inspiring, reading while waiting for your new book. When is it due?
Keep up the great work and inspiration!
Andre,
The book should be out this Spring.
All of my books start out as one thing and end up as another. Honestly, I still don’t know where this one is headed exactly. At this point, it is everything I’ve been thinking about for the last two years.
But that would be a boring book. Sorry for the non-literal answer.
Heh. I did some inlay work on rabbit boxes earlier this year. I figured they each deserved a permanent carrot. It was just practice, but it turned out fine. Of course, the rabbits haven’t noticed.
A question, Chris:
Is this a "studio shot", or your shop at home? I think I recognize the bourbon barrel trash can, but I’m not sure which bench we are seeing here (and yes, we do know all of your benches by name!).
I’m quite sure that had King Louis XV of France not only commissioned his Bureau du Roi to be made but also a dog kennel at the same time it would be both rare and extremely valuable.
That is my shop at home, which I have just renovated. The bench is the
Holtzapffel. Built in 2007.
