This is what physicists call a three body problem. My desire for these tools is relatively constant, but the funds in my wallet and your stock are bodies constantly in motion. Some day the stars will align and I will score a pair of dividers and a lump hammer. Alas, today is not that day.

  2. This is all a little mind boggling. Not so much at how many hammers that have sold, and not even that there is a backlog of eager customers. My brain just can’t compute how many chisel handles must be getting destroyed every day!!!

I’ve had my lump hammer for several months now. My chisel handles are absolutely fine. You don’t wield a lump hammer like the mighty hammer of Thor. The point is that you work less with more mass. The only thing in my shop that gets a good solid whack with the lump hammer are my holdfasts. Chisels and other tools are merely tapped with precision.
